Hilton Head Island Beach Parks

All of Hilton Head Island's beaches are public, from the ocean to the high water mark. Access to the beach, however, is often private. The Town of Hilton Head Island provides several beach accesses for visitors to enjoy, most with convenient amenities to help make your vacation spent on Hilton Head's beaches a great experience! Below are a list of the Beach Parks located on Hilton Head Island.

Adler Lane Beach Park

2 Woodward Avenue
Hilton Head Island, SC

Additional Directions:  Located off of South Forest Beach Drive

Hours:  Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 9:00 pm
            Winter Hours: Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
            Hours change according to Daylight Savings Time

The southern most part of this beach is located beside the Marriott Grand Ocean Resort on South Forest Beach Road at Alder Lane. This is a nice wide beach and is relatively uncrowded. Amenities include restrooms and a drink vending machine. It's an easy bike ride from most South End locations.

Burkes Beach Park

60 Burkes Beach Road
Hilton Head Island, SC

Additional Directions:  Located off of William Hilton Parkway at the end of Burkes Beach Road

The parking is very limited, and there are  no amenities and no life guards. Families with children may want to consider another beach location with more amenities.

Coligny Beach Park

1 Coligny Circle

Hilton Head Island, SC

Additional Directions:  Located at the end of Pope Avenune off Coligny Circle

Hours:  Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 9:00 pm

Winter Hours: Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

This is the island's busiest beach, in part because volleyball nets are available and an outdoor bar is located just off the beach at the Holiday Inn. Though this beach can become crowded in season, you have only to walk a few hundred yards North or South to get away from the crowds.There are restrooms, changing rooms, water fountains, sand showers, a water feature for kids to play in, swings, and other amenities.  Life Guards rent beach equipment, Hobie Cats, recumbent bikes, sand trikes, umbrellas, etc.

Additional Directions: Located off of William Hilton Parkway at the end of Bradley Beach Road

Hours:  Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 9:00 pm

Winter Hours: Sunday thru Monday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

 

Dreissen beach is also off William Hilton parkway, at Bradley Beach Rd. It has Life Guards, plenty of parking, rest rooms, sand showers and vending machines. It has a playground and a few picnic tables, one with a grill nearby. The boardwalk to the beach is quite long and requires healthy legs. If you park here, note the number of your parking space and go to the machine at the building housing the restrooms to pay. It takes quarters. This beach is equipped with the mats that make it wheelchair accessible.
